By pinkitty on 16 Dec 2009

Hi! I am a nursing mom who is very interested in using latisse but wanted to make sure it will not have any affect on my baby. Does anyone know? Thank you.

It's possible for any medication that enters your body to enter the body of your child, whether through breastfeeding or while you are still pregnant. That's why all medications say "Do not take if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant". So, yes, it's possible.

I've been researching this and Latisse is a product that came from Lumigan, an eyedrop used to help glaucoma sufferers. Because of a side effect from it was patients grew thicker lashes... Same ingredients, here's what they say: pregnancy category C. It is not known whether Lumigan is harmful to an unborn baby. Before using this medication, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. It is not known whether bimatoprost passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not use Lumigan without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. SO MY ADVICE, DON'T USE IT WHILE BREASTFEEDING. I BF MY BABIES AND THEY ABSORB EVERYTHING, IT'S NOT WORTH THE RISK. WAIT TIL YOU ARE FINISHED.
