I have read that some side effects of using (revitalash or) Latisse is that after you discontinue using the products, your eyelashes fall out. Any experience with that?

I am experiencing all of my lashes falling out as well :( I stopped using Latisse 4 months ago and was fine until about a week ago. I'm losing 2 or 3 lashes from each eye every time I take my makeup off. My eyes look horrible. Mascara doesn't help. I also noticed periorbital fatloss which is why I stopped using it which is NOT a side effect allergen lists but if you look up bimataprost or watever the generic is you can find studies that have been done and proven it! Luckily the fatloss can reverse if you stop using latisse early enough and it did for me (i used it for about 4 months) but I have read of people using it for a few years and theirs not reversing. Anyway I really hope my lashes don't fall out completely and they can grow back. I am dealing with enough problems with my body and face. I certainly don't need another :(

Do not use it everyday. Use it like once every 3-4 days. Also do not buy Latisse, save your money. It cost me $140 here in Colorado, it works great, until it's gone, then they fall out, and try to come up with another 140. From this forum I found Beautybylarkins.com, and Smartlash.com, both of them work awesome!! BUT you buy them on-line, no prescription and ONLY $25-28 bucks!!! To your door!! I am the person that wrote the letter below. I was so pissed off about the cost because it does work, you've just got to keep re-applying it, and Latisse wants way to much money. But I found that applying it once every 3-4 days is perfect!! I purchased these two name brands in May, and they are still quite full!!. I am a 58 almost 59 year old post menopausal, YULK, but my lashes are gorgeous!! Another tip, maybe after they get long, don't wear mascara as much, then you won't have to wash your face every night, thus losing lashes. My 29 year old daughter compliments me every time I see her that mine are longer than hers, lol :-) Also I do not have an issue with the periorbital fatloss, or the darkening or black spots stuff? I REALLY make sure I only get it on my lash lines, then turn my face sideways in mirror to see if I can see any medication shinning on my eyelids, if I do I wipe it off! The Smartlash comes just like mascara with the wand? Like eyeliner wand... LOVE it! and LOVE the results, I even have a couple that look like they need trimming, but NO WAY!! But I only use it once every 4 days, good luck :-) oh and sorry Latisse, that's a "dirtbike" payment...

Product does not work!!!! Your lashes grow beautifully BUT fall out and do not stay!! I am 58 years old, ALREADY went through menopause quite a while back so no one can blame it on that!! The commercials need to state that "you have to keep purchasing the product to keep them active in growing"... rip-off!!!

For me, the lashes have fallen out and I have bald spots. I'm hoping they'll grow back to their pre-Latisse length. Then I'll go back to the Loreal serum.

I agree with the comments that your lashes get worse once you discontinue using Latisse. I did the full 16-18 week therapy and my lashes were great the best ever (and I had good lashes to start) I then reduced the amount of Latisse to 2-3 times a week. I know have a bare spot on my right eye and the thickness that was once there prior to latisse is ow gone. I am hoping it will return soon. Currently using Latisse to speed up the growing process. Good luck ladies you have to weigh the risk vs. the reward.

I'm commenting to these older posts, but thought my input might be useful. I quit Latisse about 2-3 months ago. During the time I was using the product my eyelashes grew very long. It was great. I quite, just because it wasn't something I wanted to upkeep and didn't think it was worth the cost. My eyelashes were fine/average before using the product. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed a huge (about 1/8) of my eyelashes gone from my left eye. I also had a smaller spot on my right eye. I'm hoping they will grow back, but I haven't seen any growth yet. It's pretty bad since it right in the center of the lid. My thoughts are if you don't have super short eyelashes, then I wouldn't risk it, if you do, then you might have the possibility of losing your eyelashes. Just my experience with this product.

User eupelia commented that the lashes just go back to the way the were before, but for me it was worse than before; once I discontinued use they were more sparse than ever. And in one area on my left eye I had a "bald spot" but they grew back in about a month or so.

Yeah, it's not that they fall out more than they did before you used Latisse, it's that when you stop latisse, your eye lashes will go back to how they were before. this means all your extra hairs will fallout together so it will seem like you are losing eyelashes but really it's just going back to how it was before.

Sorry but not true.. I also was amazed by the results, but after my lashes falled off, They never grew back to their original pre latisse natural length! I am 27 years old and Its now been 2 years since my last use, and my lashes are still not recovered. I have bald spots, short lashes, and straight lashes with curly ones. Never again! horrible.

The fine print does say that the lengthening is not permanent, so in order to keep your eyelashes long, you would have to keep paying for the product month after month after month. Whether or not they would fall out, I do not know.
