Eyelashes fall out after discontinuing Latisse?

By daylight on 03 Dec 2009

I have read that some side effects of using (revitalash or) Latisse is that after you discontinue using the products, your eyelashes fall out. Any experience with that?

The fine print does say that the lengthening is not permanent, so in order to keep your eyelashes long, you would have to keep paying for the product month after month after month. Whether or not they would fall out, I do not know.

Yeah, it's not that they fall out more than they did before you used Latisse, it's that when you stop latisse, your eye lashes will go back to how they were before. this means all your extra hairs will fallout together so it will seem like you are losing eyelashes but really it's just going back to how it was before.

User eupelia commented that the lashes just go back to the way the were before, but for me it was worse than before; once I discontinued use they were more sparse than ever. And in one area on my left eye I had a "bald spot" but they grew back in about a month or so.

I'm commenting to these older posts, but thought my input might be useful. I quit Latisse about 2-3 months ago. During the time I was using the product my eyelashes grew very long. It was great. I quite, just because it wasn't something I wanted to upkeep and didn't think it was worth the cost. My eyelashes were fine/average before using the product. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed a huge (about 1/8) of my eyelashes gone from my left eye. I also had a smaller spot on my right eye. I'm hoping they will grow back, but I haven't seen any growth yet. It's pretty bad since it right in the center of the lid. My thoughts are if you don't have super short eyelashes, then I wouldn't risk it, if you do, then you might have the possibility of losing your eyelashes. Just my experience with this product.

I agree with the comments that your lashes get worse once you discontinue using Latisse. I did the full 16-18 week therapy and my lashes were great the best ever (and I had good lashes to start) I then reduced the amount of Latisse to 2-3 times a week. I know have a bare spot on my right eye and the thickness that was once there prior to latisse is ow gone. I am hoping it will return soon. Currently using Latisse to speed up the growing process. Good luck ladies you have to weigh the risk vs. the reward.
